An Everest update from Alex Cruz – 10th May.
“It was one of the most difficult nights trying to sleep at 7050mts of altitude since we chose not to use O2, as to better acclimatize.
It was -20 degrees cold inside the tent, uneven due to the mountain slope that shivered with every little movement.
“We waited for the sun to hit the tent, left and in 40 minutes we were already safely back to Jumar Point, another 40 minutes and we were already back to Camp 2!
“What we didn’t expect was the gift that God gave us! A perfect sunset!
“Open sky, mild temperature, fantastic light … and then a single night … It was all we needed to be sure that God was with us and approved our acclimatization process!
“The next day, at 4: 30h we would be back to the Base Camp with the 3rd cycle of acclimatization successfully concluded!”
