An Everest update from Heimir F. Hallgrimsson – 7th May.
“It’s about a week until we go back through notorious Khumbu Icefall and try to climb the highest mountain in the world.
“These are such mixed feelings going through Khumbu Icefall.
“There is no place I remember that is as beautiful but at the same time you are scared shitless and want to get through the area as fast as possible. You jump over glacier cracks, climb up ice walls, climb down ice walls, over ladders, in too much cold or too much heat.
“But despite everything, I’m really excited to go there. This is something that is difficult to describe.”
