Nepal Tourism Board Update Regarding Tourist Evacuation to Kathmandu

An update from the Nepal Tourism Board – 7th May

With the rapid increase of the cases of COVID-19 (with new variant) infections in Nepal, we would like to inform you that the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal has decided/instructed the following with regard to the movement of individuals in the country:

  1. Nepalese citizens as well as foreigners willing to enter Kathmandu Valley from any entry points shall have to mandatorily stay 5-day quarantine in any of the hotels approved by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.   2. After the 5-day quarantine, a PCR test shall have to be done.
  3. The cost of hotel stay including three meals a day has been fixed as NPR 3000 Nett per day.

In case of any foreigners requiring rescue flight/s to Kathmandu from any part of the country, all concerned are requested to mandatorily coordinate with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) before getting the approval of such rescue flight/s from the office of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).  The concerned agency or person coordinating for such rescue flight/s should fill up the online “Evacuation Form” which can be accessed in the website https://www.welcomenepal.com/plan-your-trip/covid-19.html
