Nimsdai and Elite Expeditions cancel K2 Campaign
There will be no ‘Elite Expeditions’ team on K2 this year with the Covid situation proving to big of a hurdle to cross.
Team Leader Nimsdai explained the decision:
“You have to be prepared in the mountains for whatever comes your way.
“Part of my job as an expedition leader is to weigh all the factors and make sure that I am making the best and safest decision for my team and my clients. So, it is with a heavy heart that we have taken the decision to cancel our K2 and Broad Peak expedition this year.
“Due to the ongoing Covid situation and measures put in place like visa and travel restrictions, it means a lot of uncertainly.
“I know how hard my teams and clients have been training and I am so proud of them all.
“We will return to the Savage Mountain, but for now, the best decision is to be safe, look after everyone and ensure we are all back to trek together soon.”
