An Everest update from Colin O’Brady – 8th May.
“Tonight at 1am it’s time to leave Base Camp again to brave the Khumbu Icefall for a second rotation and go back up the mountain to the higher camps. I’m so stoked Jenna Besaw will be joining me up to Camp 2 for this round of acclimatization.
“Plan is to leave EBC tonight and go directly to Camp 2 (21,000ft). Then sleep a couple nights in Camp 3, and at least touch Camp 4 (the final camp before the summit) on the precipice of the “Death Zone.”
“This time up the mountain is all about getting my body acclimated to the super thin air up high since I won’t be using supplemental oxygen. This rotation is crucial to the ultimate success of my goal. Wish us luck!”
