Mingma G and Team complete difficult Annapurna climb

Mingma G has spread the good news on a successful climb of Annapurna for his team – but has warned that this is his last time on this ‘risky’ mountain.

His social media post revealed the news;

“Our Imagine Nepal team made it to the summit of Annapurna yesterday at 10:10am being first team to reach the summit.

This year was the most difficult on Annapurna in comparison to my previous expeditions. Dry conditions, more crevasses, hanging seracs made it more difficult. The deathly avalanche between camp2 and camp3 always scared me. So today I made my final Goodbye to this beautiful mountain.

I won’t be leading any expedition on it in future. This mountain is just too risky. Annapurna’s beauty always attracted me but I can’t risk my life here anymore.”

Imagine Nepal expanded on the successful climb;

“We’re thrilled to announce that on April 6, 2025, at 10:10 AM (Nepal time), our Imagine Nepal team successfully made the first 8000-meter summit of the Spring 2025 season!

“Summit Team:
– Mr. Zhao YiYi (China)
– Mr. Dipan Gurung (Nepal)
– Mr. Phinjo Dorjee Sherpa (Nepal)

“The summit of Annapurna-I wasn’t easy—it came after an earlier attempt on March 26 was called off due to harsh weather above 7,500m. After weeks of acclimatization and rotations starting March 10, the team pushed forward with determination, ultimately reaching the top during their second summit push.
Imagine Nepal also proudly took the lead in fixing the ropes on Annapurna-I this year, guiding the path for all future climbers this season.
Congratulations to our entire team for their resilience and leadership on one of the most dangerous 8000ers in the world!”
