Cho Polu summit for David Goettler and team

“A short, intense adventure is always a good one!” said David Goettler after a one-day ascent up Cho Polu.

The 6,700m peak in the Khumbu Himal region is believed to have only been climbed 3 times but it has an interesting history.

Lucien Boucansaud and Guillaume Pierrell joined Goettler for the climb, completed in 10 hours in ‘alpine style which I love so much’.

The trio use went up via the 2011 route previously used by Jordi Corominas and Elena Maria Parga – going straight up the steep west face.
