Everest 2021 Update – Colin O’Brady / Jenna Besaw – 9th May
An Everest update from Colin O’Brady, climbing with his wife Jenna Besaw – 9th May.
“Yep, that’s my wife Jenna Besaw in the photo jumping over a crevasse with Everest and Lhotse shining in the background.
“Today Jenna and I climbed from Base Camp (17,500ft) direct to Camp 2 (21,100ft).
“Jenna had some understandable trepidation to climb through the Khumbu Icefall for her first time. She totally rocked it, navigating one of the most challenging and dangerous parts of Mt. Everest like it was nothing. Jumping crevasses, climbing ice cliffs in the dead of night, walking across rickety ladders with an abyss of air underfoot if you make one wrong move. I am so incredibly proud of how she showed up today. We made it to Camp 2 from Base Camp in 8.5 hours.
“I feel so deeply grateful to have such a badass wife to share these incredible life experiences with.
“I’m sure when we’re old and grey we’ll still be talking about today…perfection!”
