“Everest ER doctors held a meeting with expedition leaders yesterday to discuss logistics for managing respiratory illnesses, just as officials in Kathmandu report increasing cases there.

“Key points shared in the meeting included encouraging all to maintain their bubble/discouraging visits between camps, wearing masks even within their camps, sending any members with respiratory illness to see the doctors at Everest ER for further evaluation, and a discussion about how to properly isolate and monitor ill camp members.

“Some teams will be fully acclimatized and getting ready to mount their summit bids so maintaining optimal health is their key focus now.”
