Everest 2025 Daily Updates – 23rd May

Daily updates from teams and individuals climbing Everest during the 2025 Season.

Garrett Madison
“We left camp at 1:30 AM due to the high winds, and saw well over 100 headlights above us up on the triangular face climbing towards the balcony on their way up. They had began their final summit push before us…but then they started coming down, descending as we were climbing up. They looked battered and said the winds were too high, it was not possible to climb that day we kept hearing again and again…but we kept pushing up. I didn’t think the winds were were unreasonable, our team was moving strong. We were all bundled up in our @mountainhardwear summit suits. We got lucky, I think the winds dropped as we climbed higher, allowing us to make it to the summit with just a small number of climbers , great views, a great day at the top of the world!!!”

14k Expeditions
“In an extraordinary feat of strength, endurance, and elite mountaineering skill, Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa has made four successful ascents of Mount Everest (8,848.86m) within just 15 days — a record that has stunned the climbing world.
From the treacherous Khumbu Icefall to the summit ridge, he has conquered the world’s highest peak again and again, proving that true legends are made in the thin air above 8000 meters.
This achievement is not just a personal milestone, but a proud moment for Nepal and the global climbing community. Tashi Gyalzen stands tall — a symbol of Sherpa strength, precision, and fearless determination.”
