Congratulations to all team members and international alpinists of the Everest Expedition and Lhotse Expedition.

Mountain Professionals

We commend our entire team this year, clients and staff. In an anomaly year where smaller group sizes prevailed in general for all climbing groups, we as well shared the season with just a couple climbers. Both gave a great personal effort on Everest in pushing the limits of taking on the Big E.
Our staff did an outstanding job of preparing the route with camps and logistics from Basecamp to Camp 4. Alas, the final goal was decided that future attempts for both our climbers was the most prudent in great conversations of self selection and coaching from the guide staff.
It has been a very positive experience for all and on the Mtn Pros side and we look forward to future climbs with our team members this season to facilitate another attempt in the coming years.

Top of the world.
Well… that was one hell of a ride. The best way to describe the way PK and I work is that it’s a video-game-like two-man crew on a non-stop high reality TV shoot at 29, 035ft where no one stops and we keep racing ahead while staying ahead. There’s a constant muffled dialogue between us due to our oxygen masks, we’re communicating how to navigate complex territory while getting the shots we’re looking for.
This year was particularly incredible because we shot the entire summit night under a near full moon, with the mountains fully lit, a night where neither of us used headlamps and the footage through my viewfinder looked completely surreal. As PK managed audio with an eye on safety, I recorded lightning storms in the distance and questioned whether what I was seeing unfolding was possible. It was by far some of the most spectacular footage I’ve ever shot on Everest – all at night.
.
There were dozens of incredible moments, but the one that sticks out was when I was above the Hillary Step in the dark and I couldn’t quite see the team below so I asked PK if he thought straddling the rock with at 7000ft drop below was a good idea and he replied: β€˜I think so, why not?’. So I flung one foot across and sat down on the frigid jagged rock and swung the other leg over and hung on the safety line and filmed into oblivion during the most dramatic moment of the climb.
Hard to believe I did this with a fractured fibula (hit by a motorcycle one day before the expedition began) and PK was suffering from Costochondritis. We powered through and just got on with it. Mind over matter.
To PK, my Sherpa brother and our Nepalese crew supporting us: thank you!

Thank you to the hundreds of Nepalese high altitude climbers and staff who work incredibly hard to render this mountain accessible to all who aspire to seek safe passage and safe return to the roof of the world.
