Everest Khumbu Icefall route fixed for 2025

The Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) have announced that the route through the Khumbu Icefall has been fixed for the Everest 2025 season.

The SPCC proudly announced their news on their Social Media;

“We are pleased to announce that our legendary Icefall Doctors have successfully completed the fixing of the Khumbu Icefall route on 9th April 2025 for the Spring 2025 climbing season.

We would like to clarify recent misinformation circulating in a Nepali online news portal which reported that an avalanche damaged ladders and ropes on the route. While there was an avalanche early in the morning yesterday from the Lingtren side, we confirm that it did not impact the fixed route or any equipment placed by our team.

We kindly urge the media and the public to refrain from spreading unverified information. For authentic and timely updates regarding the Icefall, please stay tuned to SPCC’s official channels.
