Khoo Swee Chiow tried, tried and tried again, but Lhotse did not want to accept him this year.
He didn’t lose though, he learned and he will be back on the slopes of another mountain soon enough, that is for sure.

“It’s been a very tough season with covid, 2 cyclones that brought storm and a lot of snowfall, an avalanche that destroyed some tents at C2 while we were sleeping there, another avalanche while descending in the icefall, loss of a friend and international flight suspension.
“So the score: Lhotse 3 Me 0.
“But all is not lost. I have learnt so much. I hope to share with you in due time.
“I am at Lukla now waiting for a flight to Kathmandu. I hope to be home on 12 June via Istanbul. Then, 21 days quarantine. Even though I am off the mountain, the challenge is not over.
