Everest 2021 – Team Updates – 12th May

Selected Everest updates from teams on the mountain – May 12th.

Alpine Ascents

“We are all doing well here in Basecamp. The team is resting, we are expecting some snow the next day or two, and then we will get out and stretch the legs on a few hikes over the next week or so as we are patiently waiting for a later summit window. “

“I’ll keep you posted!”

Ascent Himalayas
“All teams are back to camp 2 now and will be back to base camp tomorrow.”

“Our base camp will be clear by this week and will head back to Kathmandu.”

Climbing the Seven Summits

“All of our members & staff are safely back to the South Col. They will rest there on oxygen and then descend down to Camp 2 tomorrow.

Two of our climbers, Michael Neal & Steve Stevens even dropped down to Camp 2 and will come back to Base Camp tomorrow.

Plenty to celebrate in the CTSS camp! Congratulations all.”

Furtenbach Adventures

“Waiting in basecamp for the perfect summit window. We will all soon head up the mountain for our summit push.”

International Mountain Guides

“The IMG Sherpa Team has been working hard on the upper mountain and Ang Jangbu reports that we have only a few more loads to stock at the South Col before we are ready to summit.  The weather looks good for the Sherpa Team to get this done tomorrow.

“The  IMG Climbers at Everest Base Camp continue to recover and prepare.  They are watching the weather closely for their opportunity to begin the summit rotation.  In order to stay sharp, they will be taking some day hikes to the “lookout” above Base Camp, and also to Pumori Camp 1.”

Mountain Professionals

“Our Everest climbing team is now patiently waiting at Everest Base Camp for good luck with the weather for a summit push… updates to come!”

Madison Mountaineering

“Big congratulations to Kenton Cool, Dorjee Gelgen Sherpa, Jon Gupta, Rebecca Ferry, Chhetan Dojree Sherpa, and Lakpa Wongchu Sherpa for successfully and safely completing the combination climb of both Everest and Lhotse. Absolutely perfect weather for both summits for these strong climbers! Amazing job by the entire team. Everyone is safely down to Camp 2 in the Western Cwm and resting up for the final descent to base camp tomorrow.”
