Altitude Junkies – Everest 2022
Everest 2022 updates from the Altitude Junkies Team led by Phil Crampton!
17th April
The last of our expedition members arrived today in Kathmandu with all of their luggage. Tomorrow we will take helicopters to Namche Bazar where will spend the night before starting the trek to base camp.
Several of our team members are already either trekking or climbing in the Makalu and Everest regions repsectively. They will have a head start on the acclimatization process over myself as I have been in Kathmandu for the last three weeks taking care of the last minute expedition logistics for this season.
Our Sherpa crew have nearly finished setting up base camp in anticipation of our team members arriving on the 22nd.
It seems as if the number of climbers present this season will be reduced compared to last, which I think will benefit all those climbers on the hill.
