Everest 2025

Everest Daily Updates – 7th May

Daily updates from teams and individuals climbing Everest during the 2025 Season.

Mitchell Hutchcraft
“I still can’t believe I’m saying this, but conditions on the mountain have changed, the fixing teams are ready, and my summit date has moved forward
13,179km, 19 countries, and a lifelong dream have all come down to this moment.
I’m absolutely bricking it. It’s all up to mother nature now.”

Rich Williams
“It’s 3 weeks since we left the UK. Great trek to Base Camp and was sad to see the others leave. Since then have settled into Base Camp life, meeting many other amazing people, and played some new, fun card games too! Had a successful rotation up to Camp 2; summit push likely to start back end of this week.”

Karl Egloff
“First rotation done!
3 days 2 nights at 6400m and yesterday ascent very close to the south col 7800m.
Back to base camp at 5300m to recharge 🪫🔋for a second rotation.
Already a month in Nepal 🇳🇵 but still 15-20 more days to fulfill a dream!
Enjoying a good ☕️ and great friends.
Nico is sick, he went down to recover but he will be with us soon
The mountain is not climbed overnight, lots of patience and respect are key to be able to climb without bottled oxygen.”

Honourable Artillery Company
“One of the most demanding days of the expedition so far—an intense climb up the steep, icy slopes of the Lhotse Face to reach Camp 3. This marks the high point of the rotation at a lung-burning 7050m, all without supplemental oxygen. A true test of grit and altitude endurance.”

Kunga Sherpa
“The rotation of Camp-IV begins now. Our team, the entire Sherpa Power Team of Fertenbach Adventures, has set off towards Camp-IV (South Col) 7950 meters. See you in a few days.”

Jangbu Sherpa
“Back at Base Camp safe & sound, rotation went well, now it’s time to rest, recover and wait patiently until the time comes to head up for final summit push at Big “ E””

Pedro Hauck
“Calm down, the top of the world itself will take a few days. Maybe 4 maybe more
On the 10th, the Sherpas will likely reach the summit of Everest for the first time this season. Opening up the summit for us.
Tomorrow’s window through the 16th looks great. No precipitation, no strong winds and a minimum temperature at the summit overnight of -32 (heat feel).
We got here early and have chance to get here earlier too, avoid the lines and the traffic jams.
Let’s hope it works out!”

Sanu Sherpa
“Pushing higher, step by step.
Rotation days on Everest are never easy — but they build the strength, focus, and resilience needed for the summit. Grateful for this journey, the mountains that shape us, and the mission ahead.”

Ben Jones
“Acclimatizing at Camp 2 on Everest. Our team is doing great! @alpineascents We will touch Camp 3 the day after tomorrow and then head back to Basecamp for some rest before heading back up the mountain and on to Everest. Thank you to the #spcc and the Icefall doctors for making the best route through the icefall I have seen in my 14 years on Everest.”
