Icefall as tricky as ever on Everest

Once again the Khumbu Icefall is proving to be a tricky obstacle to overcome on Everest.

“There is a very tricky section just below Camp 1,” Dawa Steven of Asian Trekking told ExplorersWeb.

“There is a very big crevasse, and the Ice Doctors have been trying to find a way through for the last four or five days, without success.”

Even at this early stage of the Everest season the route to Camp 1 would have been made by now but it is expected to take a few more days with the extra issues.

The Icefall Doctors are the best at what they do though and are sure to find as safe a route possible through to Camp 1 in good time for the arriving climbers.
