Russian duo attempt Rolwaling Kang

Russians Alexei Lonchinsky and Yuri Koshelenko have a plan to make a first climb of Rolwaling Kang along the South East route.

We will follow their progress on the 6,645m peak here.

October 17th

“Today at 12 o’clock Alexey Lonchinsky called. They are doing well according to plan. In three days they reached the base camp, acclimatized to a height of more than 6000 – went to the nearest mountain ( as far as the – Furaima ) allows. All tasks for acclimatization and equipment verification have been completed. Today they rest, tomorrow (18th)if the weather allows, they go under the route, set up camp. The day after tomorrow (19th)  the assault.

“If the weather forecast  is not very good, possibly, the ascent per day will shift.”
